Good Morning, Starshine--The Earth Says Hello

There are so many upcoming celestial events!

A total solar eclipse on April 8. Saturn and Mars will appear very close together in the sky. On April 11, the planet Mercury passes between Earth and the Sun. From April 16 through the 25, the Lyrids meteor shower will blaze through the sky. The Eta Aquarid meteor shower, with its peak on May 6, runs from April 15 through May 27. On April 23, you can catch the Full Pink Moon. Some of the constellations that will be visible throughout the month include Leo, Leo Minor, Berenice’s Hair, Virgo, Corvus, Hydra, and Monoceros.

The events above are only a small list of what will be happening in the sky above us.

Choose one of these events, or another one, and write, draw, sew, paint, dance, collage, knit, decoupage, or sing about it.

Yes, what happens above and beyond us has been "arted" about since people first started. And why not? Beautiful, fierce, mysterious--in fact, one of the first (or the first, depending on who you ask) movies ever made was 1902's A Trip to the Moon, and it used material from a number of the many science fiction books already written. And we continue to wonder, be it with Star Trek, Dr. Who, Star Wars, Alien, or any other movies and TV shows that play with our curiosity.

So what is your own take on all of these brilliant events out there in the unknown darkness that surrounds us? Get creative and create your vision.
