Maybe more than any other seasonal change, the autumnal equinox seems more complicated and mixed than others.
Today's poem on my blog, "Season’s End" by Audrey Colasanti, is about this turn.
I'd like you to think about the end of summer/the beginning of autumn. Does it make you happy? Sad? Both? Do you feel as if you need to buy school supplies, decades after you would need them? Are you suddenly obsessed with making soup and baking bread? Do you pull on a sweater in the evening and wonder about moving to a place that has endless summer? Or are you already planning apple-picking weekends?
Base your piece, in whatever medium you choose, and explore your different feelings about the end of summer. The more you can find in your attitude that expresses duality, the better.
And I have provided you with the start of a great playlist! Enjoy!
