Poetry/Creativity Prompt: Rails On Fire

The temperatures in the Chicago area are so low right now, crews had to set the public train tracks on fire to melt the snow and ice so that the trains could run.

This evocative photo is a great start for a poem, a painting, a mixed media piece, even a quilt design--your choice! Your piece does not have to be about the true reason these rails are on fire; just take in what you see here and write. If you are going to make an art piece, feel free to be abstract. (Remember, prompts are just that--starting points. If you veer completely away from the original source, that's fine, as long as you are prompted to create something.)
